Welcome to Channel 8 pereda4a, where I talk about working as a long-haul truck driver in Europe. On November 11, 2021, Scania unveiled its largest update since the introduction of its new generation of trucks in 2017. Investment in this project exceeded €2 billion. New powertrain solutions, design improvements to the vehicles, and new digital services are being introduced. This comprehensive set of updates is aimed at improving the economic and environmental efficiency of carriers. Some updated Scania components will become available to Russian customers starting in 2022. The Scania SUPER, a model fully equipped with all new components, including a 13-liter engine, will be available in 2023. New line of 13-liter diesel engines capable of running on biofuel New modular vehicle options: design changes to the chassis, frame, axles, and fuel tanks The transport industry is changing rapidly. Today, truck owners' demands for reduced operating costs are combined with the need to protect the environment. This is precisely the aim of Scania's suite of upgrades, which are particularly relevant now, while carriers are still using diesel vehicles but are already preparing for the transition to renewable fuels and electric traction. Scania's new platform for Euro 6-compliant vehicles with power outputs ranging from 420 to 560 hp, when combined with all the proposed solutions, can provide transport companies with fuel savings of up to 8% on long-haul hauls. All engines in the new model can run on hydrogenated vegetable oil, and two of them are also available with biodiesel fuel made from fatty acid methyl esters. Other options will be available for countries that do not use biogas fuel. The new powertrain also features updated gearbox and axle designs. Enjoy watching, everyone!
