YouTube is one of my favorite ways to do so. In this R&B guitar tutorial, I'm teaching you how to play Silent Night on guitar by the Temptations. This is a classic R&B Christmas song. It's in the Key of C. I'll be using the I-ii-iii-IV chord progression. If you don't know the number system, I encourage you to do a search on my channel for a guitar video lesson I have on the number system. Also, in this guitar video lesson, I show you a different way to play the walk-up. It's really a classic gospel turnaround that I encourage you to learn and apply in your playing. I suggest you get used to playing the chord progression, I-ii-iii-IV Chord Progression. Also, learn the diminished chord shape, and practice the minor 7 flat 5 chord. You'll need to learn these if you want to play R&B guitar, neo soul guitar, and/or gospel guitar. Once you have that, practice with the song so you get used to the rhythm. Start slow and over time increase your speed. You'll begin to see an improvement - regardless of whatever level you are. And have fun along the way!
