The Gospel of Forgiveness - Johnny Hunt - 5/21/23

The Gospel of Forgiveness Pastor Johnny Hunt delivered a powerful message on forgiveness. In this parable, a man begged the King for mercy because he was unable to pay a large debt. The King forgave his tremendous debt. Afterward, this man confronted someone owing him a large sum. The second man also didn’t have any money and pleaded for more time to pay. Instead of forgiving, he threw him in jail. The King couldn’t believe what the man did! He’d been forgiven so much but could not forgive a little. The King ordered the man to go to prison. Jesus expects us to forgive! We are born into sin owing a debt we could never repay. Jesus paid it all! Forgiveness is a choice you choose by an act of your will to forgive once and for all. That doesn’t mean you'll never struggle with it again, but you'll have learned what you need to do with it. Continue to turn it over to the Lord! When you forgive and release the person from the debt you unlock your prison doors with the key of forgiveness. As you do, you'll begin to thank God for deepening your understanding of the Gospel. Forgiveness must be granted- it’s given, not earned. We can’t withhold forgiveness until a person changes. We didn't earn our salvation. It’s a free gift from God! Forgiveness is submitting in faith to truth not to the flesh. Forgiven sinners forgive sin!
