11/2/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "HEAVEN CAN WAIT" Philippians 3 Verse 20 "But our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." There are three things we see about heaven from this passage. 1. Heaven is our Home 2. Heaven is not Here 3. Heaven is our Hope A. We are to wait expectantly - Earnestly awaiting heaven B. We are to walk wisely 1 Peter 1:17 "You should conduct yourself in reverence during this time of temporary residence." C. We are to work faithfully— to be busy about the work of the Kingdom of God Jesus tells us in John 9:4 that we must work while we are here on earth for night cometh when no man can work." ____________________ "Tune our spirits. Lord : to sing out with the sky. Psalm 145:19 - 22 "The Lord is near to those who call upon him :to all who call upon him faithfully, He fulfills the desire of those who fear him :he hears their cry and helps them.The Lord preserves all those who love him :but he destroys all the wicked. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord : let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. Go beside us, God, as our strength and our joy for the journey Amen." ___________________ "THINK ON THIS: Things 'HEAVENLY' " "think about heavenly things" means to focus one's mind on spiritual realities such as God and divine values, rather than being consumed by earthly concerns. Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth Earthly VS Heavenly Things The verse does not suggest abandoning all earthly activities, but rather shifting the focus and motivations behind them. It cautions against being so consumed by earthly concerns that one becomes oblivious to spiritual things. The focus is on spiritual values that are eternal, in contrast to the often-transient nature of earthly pursuits. This involves a deliberate effort to set both your intellectual and emotional focus on what is above. Let the peace of Christ rule: Allow the peace of Christ to govern your heart. Let the Word of Christ dwell richly: Let the teachings of Christ be a constant and powerful presence in your mind. Give thanks to God: Make a conscious effort to express gratitude to God." ____________________ "How to be Thank-FULL When Tragedy Strikes" 1 Thessalonians 5:14-22 lf you spend any time watching television or reading social media, you've seen a tragic story. Natural disasters, freak accidents. and the evil nature of humanity seem to be all too prevalent today. We have the choice to put our faith in God instead of our circumstances. Are there areas in your life where it's diffcult to see God at work? How do your circumstances cause you to lose sight of God's unfailing love? What can you thank God for today'"
