In this video I have discussed about the phenomenon of First Pass Effect. This is the phenomenon due to which bioavailability of many drugs and their pharmaceutical therapeutic effects are reduced so that we need to do dosage adjustment. First Pass Effect is the phenomenon due to which the drugs gets metabolized by liver enzymes following oral absorption. Therefore the free drug concentration and it's therapuetic effects are significantly reduced. Beside that I have explained the mechanism for this phenomenon and I have provided explaination that why this is more common with oral administration of drugs. I have also discussed some factors for this phenomenon and we have a summarized explaination for each factor as well in the video. Also some of examples of drugs are also discussed in the video in order to gain a better understanding for the concept. And at the last we have also discussed some clinical complications like dosage adjustment, formulation design for this topic.
