Six accused of whipping in Masaya, Nicaragua, are behind bars.

Ensuring the safety of the public, the National Police in the department of Masaya arrested several individuals accused of committing dangerous crimes. The operation took place from August 2 to 8, 2022, according to the General Commissioner, head of the Masaya police department. Two individuals were arrested in Masatepe. According to the police investigation, they were engaged in robbery with force. They are identified as Juan Francisco Méndez Rojas and Ariel Antonio Norori Rivera. Meanwhile, for the alleged crime of robbery with violence in the municipality of Masaya, Francisco José López Amador is being held. The victim is accused of stealing a cell phone and cash. Also behind bars is Wilder Isaac Escobar Calero of the Municipality of Masaya; this man is accused of assault. Keeping youth safer and free from the scourge of drugs is a continuous effort by the National Police, fighting these individuals for perpetrating and distributing these substances. Margarita Auxiliadora Gutiérrez and Carlos Cesar Obregon Manzanares were arrested in Niquinohomo; they were found with evidence of a pound and a half of marijuana, fifty grams of crack cocaine, and money. The police force also reiterated its commitment to continue ensuring the peace and safety of the people, implementing various operational plans in neighborhoods, streets, markets, highways, and tourist sites.
