Sayfo: The mass slaughter and deportation of Syriac Christians in Southeastern Turkey, committed by Ottomans and some Kurdish tribes during World War I. On June 15, the universal Syriac Orthodox Church commemorates the Syriac martyrdom of the Sayfo "Syriac Genocide-1915".
