Modern Combat 5: Blackout (PC/Switch/iOS/Android Longplay, FULL GAME, No Commentary)
Modern Combat 5: Blackout, also known as Modern Combat 5 and Modern Combat: Blackout, was released in 2014 on iOS and Android, later being ported to both Windows and Nintendo Switch in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Developed by Gameloft Bucharest, it is currently the final game in the Modern Combat series, this time taking more of a free-to-play approach to its mission structure, requiring "energy" to be spent to play through its missions as well as a certain number of "stars" to unlock subsequent levels. *Note: The audio cuts out for about 30 seconds during the mission "Venice I: Sniping" (1:25:51). This was weirdly the only part of the video that was copyright claimed due to the background music so I just had had to mute that part so YouTube would play nice with me 😅 Luckily nothing is happening in that part of the video but apologies for any annoyance or confusion caused! -------------------------- Intro - 0:00:00 VENICE I The Lie - 0:00:45 RINNOJI TEMPLE Awakening - 0:05:39 Raiders - 0:07:18 Evasion - 0:09:52 Rescue - 0:13:06 DOWNTOWN Ambush - 0:15:01 Hot Spot - 0:17:26 The Storm - 0:19:51 Getaway - 0:22:55 Sniper - 0:27:14 Reinforcements - 0:28:50 Backup - 0:31:02 Defence - 0:33:01 VENICE II Insertion - 0:36:59 Diversion - 0:39:25 Interception - 0:42:36 Regroup - 0:44:47 Support - 0:48:10 Extraction - 0:51:28 Revelation - 0:54:45 RYOGOKU Headway - 0:58:38 Entry Point - 1:00:57 Vantage Point - 1:04:53 The Meeting - 1:07:46 GILMAN HQ Infiltration - 1:11:53 Assistance - 1:15:26 Mainframe - 1:16:22 Saunders - 1:20:10 Outro - 1:24:51 SPEC OPS Venice I: Sniping - 1:25:51 Rinnoji Temple: Assault - 1:27:00 Rinnoji Temple: Breach I - 1:28:19 Rinnoji Temple: Bomb Squad - 1:29:16 Rinnoji Temple: Breach II - 1:30:54 Rinnoji Temple: Defend - 1:31:42 Downtown: Breach I - 1:33:07 Downtown: Sniping - 1:33:49 Downtown: Breach II - 1:34:39 Downtown: Assassinate I - 1:35:39 Downtown: Assault - 1:36:01 Downtown: Assassinate II - 1:37:28 Venice II: Assassinate I - 1:37:56 Venice II: Assault - 1:38:11 Venice II: Sniping - 1:40:07 Venice II: Assassinate II - 1:41:18 Venice II: Breach - 1:41:35 Venice II: Assassinate III - 1:42:55 Ryogoku: Assassinate I - 1:43:22 Ryogoku: Assault - 1:43:36 Ryogoku: Assassinate II - 1:44:35 Ryogoku: Bomb Squad - 1:45:06 Ryogoku: Sniping - 1:46:24 Ryogoku: Assassinate III - 1:47:44 Gilman HQ: Assassinate I - 1:48:10 Gilman HQ: Sniping - 1:48:45 Gilman HQ: Bomb Squad - 1:49:37 Gilman HQ: Assassinate II - 1:51:53 Gilman HQ: Defend - 1:52:08 Credits - 1:54:20 -------------------------- Despite the free-to-play aspect of the game alongside the criminally short missions booting you back to the menu every few minutes, Modern Combat 5 was still a great game to play through. Controls, while glitchy at times, felt snappy and responsive and the gameplay as a whole was satisfying to play. I did have to spend real world money at a certain stage in order to continue playing (otherwise I would have to ground out a lot of Multiplayer), since the game was free to begin with it wasn't too hard giving them $6 to experience the full campaign and everything it had to offer. Overall, I'd recommend this one, especially since it is free to download and still available today 😊
