========================================================== SUBSCRIBE https://bit.ly/3vp3bWD =========================================================== WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 IN THE MIDST OF HIS PEOPLE God instructed his people through various means, and one of them was the Sanctuary. All its services pointed to Jesus; they were object lessons of the plan of salvation that would be carried out through Jesus many centuries later. Read Exodus 25:1–9. What crucial practical and theological truths emerge from these verses? Although God was leading the Israelites and was already close to them, He commanded Moses to build a sanctuary: “And they shall make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them” (Exod. 25:8). God wanted to show them in a tangible way that He was truly with them. Although they had made many mistakes, He had not abandoned them, and “after the favor of Heaven had been restored to them” (Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 356), they received the divine command and the process of building the Sanctuary began. The Bible assures us that God does not live in temples and buildings built by man (Acts 7:47-50) because He is greater than the heavens, and the heavens cannot contain Him. Paul affirmed the following on the Areopagus in Athens: “God who made the world and everything in it, who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made with hands” (Acts 17:24). Likewise, King Solomon said, “Can God truly dwell on the earth? If the heaven, the heaven of heavens, cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built?” (1 Kings 8:27). The Sanctuary was to be the place where God would manifest his presence to his people. The Israelites were to bring a freewill offering for the construction of the Sanctuary. They were to give precious and costly gifts, such as gold, silver, bronze, acacia wood, various types of fine fabrics, olive oil, and spices. Exodus 25:10–27:21 records many details about the Tabernacle and its services. God provided Moses with a plan with specific instructions for building and furnishing the Tabernacle, including the Ark of the Covenant, the table of shewbread, the lampstand, the altars, the curtains, the colors, and the measurements. Moses had to build the Tabernacle according to the pattern God showed him (Exod. 25:9, 40; 26:30), which was a reflection of the heavenly sanctuary (Heb. 8:1, 2; 9:11). The earthly sanctuary had served a crucial function until Jesus' death and ministry in the heavenly sanctuary, which nullified the earthly sanctuary, a truth symbolized by the tearing of the curtain before the Most Holy Place at Christ's death (Matt. 27:51; Mark 15:38). ==================== SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON THIRD QUARTER 2025 Narrated by: Eddie Rodriguez From: Guatemala, Guatemala ===================== || www.drministries.org || ===================
