From what I know, this footage depicts the first initial encounters in Angola following the early violent uprisings in northern Angola near the border with the Belgian Congo, now known as Zaire. The commanding officer, I believe, was from Algarve, either Captain or Major Maçanita at the time. Once they reached the city, they found themselves surrounded by poorly armed rebels who were drugged up and believed themselves to be invincible and immune to bullets.
