Dr Mashhood Qazi If there is suspicion of blood clots than there are a few blood tests which need to be done. These include: 1. FBC or full blood count to look for hemoglobin and platelet count 2. D-Dimer to give an indication if there is a possibility of clots 3. Clotting tests which might include INR, APTT and PT A raised D-Dimer does not specifically mean that the patient has a clot but it can give an indication if there is possibility of a clot or not.
