100K Indian kids in the US forced to Self-Deport
Over 1 lakh young Indians living in the U.S. are facing a major crisis—they might be forced to leave the only home they have ever known. These are the children of H-1B visa holders, who moved to the U.S. with their parents when they were young and are now turning 21. As soon as they hit this age, they "age out" of their dependent H-4 visa status, meaning they are no longer legally allowed to stay in the country under their parents' visa. This problem affects over 134,000 Indian children currently in the U.S., as per data from March 2023. With long delays in green card processing—some lasting decades—many of these young adults have no legal way to remain in the U.S. permanently. #indianpolitician #indianprimeminister #india #usa #usrepresentative #usaeducation Welcome to TimesXP, your go-to source for the latest international news with a special focus on the United States! 🌍🇺🇸 We bring you up-to-date coverage on key global events, breaking news, and in-depth reports that matter to you.
