TOPIC: HOW MUCH DO WE APPRECIATE OUR ADVOCATE? First Reading: Acts 16: 11-15 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 149: 1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b Alleluia: John 15: 26b, 27a Gospel: John 15: 26 – 16: 4 One thing that we all have in common is that we all came from our mother's womb. We, too, have been with our mothers from the very beginning. That is why like St. Monica, our mothers are advocates ⏤ a support, a proponent, someone who back us up, our champion ⏤ especially when pleading to the Lord for our spiritual well-being. We celebrated Mothers Day yesterday, May 14, honoring our advocates, our champions, our beloved mothers. In a couple of weeks, we will be celebrating Pentecost, the coming of Jesus' promised Advocate ⏤ the Holy Spirit, Who, like our mothers, push us to become bolder in proclaiming the Good News, inspires us to seek and do God's will, and keeps our hearts aflame as we strive for holiness and the reward of heaven. This is the 1128th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva, CFC Europe & Africa Missions Head, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
