TOPIC: HOW CAN I RECEIVE MORE BLESSINGS FROM GOD? First Reading: Isaiah 25: 6-10a Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 23: 1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6 Second Reading: Philippians 4: 12-14, 19-20 Alleluia: Ephesians 1: 17-18 Gospel: Matthew 22: 1-14 Jesus invites all of us to come and enter the kingdom of God. But we must come prepared. The gospel tells the story of a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. However, those who were originally invited did not come, so the king invited anyone he could find. One man came without the proper wedding attire and was thrown out. The rejection of the original guests signifies the choices we often make to turn away from God’s grace. It is a call to self-examination, asking ourselves whether we are accepting or rejecting God’s invitation in our lives. The man without the proper attire teaches us about the importance of preparation and sincerity in our response to God’s invitation. May we emulate the ways of Saint Expeditus who converted to Christianity with urgency and who shouted with conviction “Christianus ero, hodie! ( “I will be a Christian today!”). This is the 1269th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Israel Silud, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
