How to participate in Mass: Remember, always and everywhere, you are in the loving presence of the Lord. As you participate at Mass, consider doing the following: 1. Gather your family and set-up an altar or prayer space with a crucifix and a candle. 2. Wear appropriate Sunday Mass attire and do not have food near you. 3. Turn off other electronic/mobile devices that may distract you from fully, actively and consciously participating at Mass. 4. Listen attentively to (and if necessary, follow along at USCCB.org or other mobile applications like Laudate, Divine Office or iBreviary) the readings and psalm. 5. Recite the corresponding responses and observe the proper gestures at Mass like sitting, standing and kneeling. 6. At communion time, prayerfully recite the Act of Spiritual Communion. 7.
