what are the notes on a guitar fretboard? This is a guitar lesson on how to learn all the notes are on a guitar fretboard. This lesson is for a guitar tuned to standard tuning EADGBE. Step 1 - First Learn the sequence of notes on the Low E string and the A string going up the Fretboard from open strings to the 12 fret. Remembering there is no E Sharp or B sharp. Step 2 - Then learn the notes beyond the 12 fret on the Low E and A strings remembering that all the notes are just repeated one octave up, so the notes on the 13th fret are the same as the notes on the 1st fret e.t.c Step 3 - Once you know the sequence of notes on these two strings then learn your Octaves (as shown in the video).
