19th Sunday after Pentecost - 16 October 2022- Live from St. Francis Anglican Church
WE APOLOGISE FOR THE POOR QUALITY OF THE SOUND IN THIS SERVICE. Persistence is never time wasted. The readings for today raise all the big issues, including prayer, faith, resilience and persistence. What is Jesus saying about the relationship between prayer and persistence in the Gospel today? Faith underpins our prayer, and persistence is key. Prayer is conversation directed towards God. How does God answer prayer? Generously. Faith makes us more aware of seeing the answer to our prayers. Scripture is a light to our path. We should always us the Lord’s Prayer as a guide for other prayer. The most loving way of praying according to the parable today is persistence. Faith requires persistence and encouragement. Instead of praying for responses, pray for guidance on what to do with our eyes fixed on Jesus. Reading: Jeremiah 31:27-34 Psalm 119:97-105 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5 Luke 18:1-8
