Your Ex Wife Bryan Langston John Berger Phil Oldham Year: 1982 Album: Pyromania Bassist: Rick Savage (Sav) Genre: Hard Rock, Glam Metal ** So far, this has been the hardest Def Leppard song for me to tab. It's not a hard song, but trying to determine how the actual part goes is tricky. Listening to the studio track, it sounds like a synth bass with a different rhythm. An isolated bass track I'm about 90% sure is Sav is just electric bass without the octaves that you see in the live show, but the live bass part has a lot of what's in the isolated bass part. The Rhythm I've tabbed is what Sav does live | 0-0-7-0-7-0-0-7| all 8th notes. It might sound like the track is shifted forward by 1 8th note for |0-7-0-7-0-0-7-0| but I've looked over the live parts and in all of them, he does the first method I found out the master recording was in one of the Guitar Hero games. People have ripped the multitracks of the song out of the game, so you can find just the bass part of Rick Savage (Sav) online, and it should really him playing, not someone trying to pass off their playing as him. This makes it much easier to tab out for you all. After looking into this for a while (too long) I've come to a decision on the tab, even though it strays from the isolated track that I've found. All the live videos have the exact same rhythm and I can't ignore that. I'm confident in my tab for a person playing the bass guitar with or without a synth pedal    • Video   Isolated bass track from Guitar Hero    • Video   0:40 - Sav is playing synth bass on the keys 0:55 - same 2:08 - same. I think sav stayed on the synth live for this vid 7:41 - just kidding. He's on bass, shows pattern that's in bar 95-97 a few seconds in He does 8th notes all the way through, but has the octaves in there    • Def Leppard - "Rock of Ages" | 2019 Induction   Sav on bass, no synth, easier to hear bass 0:29 - constant 8ths 0:43 - constant 8ths, but uses octaves instead of just the open E | 0-0-7-0-7-0-0-7| 2:07 - constant 8ths 2:19 - same. Same octaves    • Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages (And There Will...   Shows the same as the above    • Def Leppard Rock Of Ages | Photograph   Shows same as above two 1:53 - shows the 3-3-5-3-4-3-3-3 - His iconic Ibanez bass    • DEF LEPPARD - Live In Germany: Part 2 (Roc...   Shows sav on the synth bass, but shows him doing the notes that the newer videos show It's really cool to see it performed at this speed 0:56 - shows synth, but constant 8ths with octaves 1:21 - same thing 5:07 - P bass same octaves as all the other videos except the isolated bass    • Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages - Ultra HD 4K -...   Same Octaves, doing 8th notes, electric bass    • Def Leppard   AT&T Blue Room Interview Sav   1:20 - sav octaves Thanks for watching!
