James Max Says NHS Gender Medicine Report Is “A Good Wake Up Call”
Parents, campaigners and former patients of the NHS's transgender services for children have hailed a new report that concluded children questioning their gender were being set on irreversible treatment paths without medical evidence. The Cass report, named after Dr Hilary Cass who chaired the review, concluded that the rationale for giving children puberty blockers 'remains unclear' and that clinicians could not determine 'with any certainty' which young patients would go on to live life permanently in a transgender identity. As The Talk panel discuss the report, James Max praises the NHS review which claims the pillars of gender medicine are “built on shaky foundations.” James says: “Until we really work out what the right answer is, the report is hopefully a good wake up call.” #talktv #talkradio #nhs #transgendermedicine
