Howard Hawks, the master director of so many great films in many different genres recounts his career in this fine documentary by Hans Blumenberg. Hawks was responsible for such classic films as: Rio Bravo, Red River, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, His Girl Friday, El Dorado, To Have and Have Not, The Big Sleep, Bringing Up Baby, Twentieth Century, Ball of Fire, Sergeant York, Only Angels Have Wings and many more and here he discusses the making of those great films. This rare look at Hawks off the set is an in depth look into this man's life and work. Hawks passed away later that year.
