Morning Worship Service - Sunday, July 7th, 2024 - First Baptist Church, Cameron, MO
This morning's message - "The Unshakeable Kingdom" is from Hebrews 12:25-29. The main point of the message is: Our duty in life is to respond in grateful service to the One who has warned and shaken the world through the grace and truth of His Son. The Outline for the Sermon: I. Warnings from Earth and Heaven (v. 25) A. God spoke through the prophets. (Heb .1:1) Man refused to listen and obey. B. God spoke through His Son. (Heb. 1:2) Jesus brought grace and truth. (John 1:14, 16-18) Will you allow God to use you to bear witness of His unshakeable kingdom? II. Shaking of the Heaven and Earth (v. 26-27; Haggai 2:6) A. The temporal things will be removed. (Ps. 102:25-26; 2 Peter 3:10) B. The eternal will remain forever. (Daniel 2:44; Rev. 21:1-2) What will you have left when the heavens and earth are shaken? III. Our Response to the Unshakeable Kingdom (v. 28) A. Let us show gratitude. (v. 28; Heb. 13:15) B. Let us offer God acceptable service. (Heb. 13:20-21) C. Let us serve in reverence and awe. Reverence is holy caution; an honest modesty which keeps us in our duties. Awe is the dread of losing something, causing someone to act cowardly. How do you demonstrate thankfulness through service? IV. A Final Warning (v. 29) Our God is a consuming fire. (Deut. 4:24) He will subdue. (Duet. 9:3) He will judge. (Heb. 10:27) Will God consume you in life or in death?
