Fleeing warrant arrest: 6/2/22

Back in March, a driver fled from a traffic stop, bailed out and ran into a house, where a crowd gathered outside. It's believed the suspect climbed into the attic to hide and later escaped during the time it took for deputies to make safe entry. Upon execution of a search warrant, deputies and detectives with the West Volusia Narcotics Task Force found the suspect's ID and the clothes he'd been wearing, along with a trafficking amount of MDMA, marijuana packaged for distribution, 7 firearms and ammunition. The firearms included a stolen AR-10 .308 rifle that was recovered from the attic access. Deputies were able to gather information on the suspect's whereabouts and yesterday (Thursday, 6/2), De'Mardre Bruten (DOB 9/10/1998) was taken into custody on his warrants for fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, trafficking in MDMA and possession of more than 20g cannabis. Bruten was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he's in custody with a total bond of $135,000.
