Case of former Transnet executives postponed to 20th September

Several former Transnet executives have been arrested by the Hawks and are appearing at the Palm Ridge Commercial Crimes Court. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says the case relates to a locomotives deal which ballooned from over R38-billion to over R54-billion. The Commission of Inquiry into State Capture had found that the Gupta brothers had allegedly received about R6-billion in kickbacks.
