Every Night 매일밤 (EXID) English Cover [nmngh]

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups. There's so much I want to say about it... if you're a fan of EXID or this song, I recommend taking some time to revisit the demo version of this song that rapper LE performed (   • LE (EXID) - 1st version of EVERY NIGHT  ). I've said this before but the members of EXID always struck me as fantastically overqualified as artists, composers, and vocalists - truly lightning in a bottle. This is also the part where I lament that "sexy" groups aren't really trending in kpop right now... maybe someday. For this one I went with a darker/heavier makeup look to imitate the makeup from that era hehehe. Even though it looks pretty dated now, and you could say it didn't especially flatter the girls' faces, I have to admit I like it... In terms of lyrics, I had a LOT of trouble getting the chorus to an English version I liked, but I think in the end I managed! Something kind of funny I would note is that... I really try to avoid the kind of Engrish that is ubiquitous to soooo many kpop songs (especially during 2nd gen haha). So when it came to translating "I know this is booty call" I initially went for the phonetically similar "M.O., this is booty call" (like "this is your modus operandi, to booty call me") and from there decided to make it "M.O., shameless booty call." But when I recorded this, it sounded almost indistinguishable from "emotionless booty call." So I re-recorded using that line. Anyway!
