Alongside his current role as lead pastor, Matt is involved in church planting efforts both locally and internationally through The Village and various strategic partnerships. Prior to accepting the pastorate at The Village, Matt had a vibrant itinerant ministry for over 10 years where he spoke to thousands of people in America and abroad about the glory of God and beauty of Jesus. His greatest joy outside of Jesus is being married to Lauren and being a dad to their three children, Audrey, Reid and Norah. It was an offer she desperately wanted and knew she needed. But Jesus then follows with a direct address of the hardest, most painful part of this woman’s past. He knew that the way to true healing, lasting freedom, and eternal satisfaction was through the wound. The same is true for us. The offer of living water is so profound because the struggle to find peace on our own comes up dry every time. We try so hard to cover up the sin, hurt, and brokenness in our lives. We crave the living water but are afraid of opening up our wounds to the Healer.
