Fourth Sunday of Lent (Year C) | Reconciled in Christ: Embracing the Father's Mercy On this Fourth Sunday of Lent, also known as Laetare Sunday, we rejoice in God's abundant mercy and His call to reconciliation. Todayโs readings remind us that through Christ, we are made new, invited to return to the Father, and experience His boundless love. ๐ Mass Readings for Today: ๐น First Reading: Joshua 5:9a, 10-12 โ The Israelites celebrate their first Passover in the Promised Land, leaving behind the reproach of Egypt. ๐น Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7 โ "Taste and see the goodness of the Lord." ๐น Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 โ "Whoever is in Christ is a new creation; the old things have passed away." ๐น Verse Before the Gospel: Luke 15:18 โ "I will get up and go to my father and say to him, โFather, I have sinned against heaven and against you.โ" ๐น Gospel: Luke 15:1-3, 11-32 โ The Parable of the Prodigal Son, a powerful story of repentance, forgiveness, and the Fatherโs unconditional love. ๐ Reflection: Just as the Prodigal Son was welcomed home with open arms, God is always ready to receive us when we turn back to Him.
