Psalm 37:4-5(KJV); Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Very few Christians have exercised themselves to never express their needs in the presence of God. The relationship of many believers with God is defined by needs. He is the giver, they are the takers. They expect Him to understand that life demands so much from them and He must always be available to provide and satisfy their material desires. Some who try to erase need out of their relationship with Him only use this as a means to an end. They wish to delight in Him so that He gives them the desires of their hearts. When God weighs their devotion, it still comes down to the fact that He does not have their hearts and they are only after what His hand can give. But, when you learn to truly delight in God, He will capture and captivate your conscience until He washes it of your needs. If you live this kind of life, the day you are bothered to remember what your problem was, you will be shocked to learn that it is no more. Make the Lord your ultimate focus. The things of this world will truly grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 42:1-2; Psalm 27:4.
