14 ○유다와 그의 형제들이 요셉의 집에 이르니 요셉이 아직 그 곳에 있는지라 그의 앞에서 땅에 엎드리니 15 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 이런 일을 행하였느냐 나 같은 사람이 점을 잘 치는 줄을 너희는 알지 못하였느냐 16 유다가 말하되 우리가 내 주께 무슨 말을 하오리이까 무슨 설명을 하오리이까 우리가 어떻게 우리의 정직함을 나타내리이까 하나님이 종들의 죄악을 찾아내셨으니 우리와 이 잔이 발견된 자가 다 내 주의 노예가 되겠나이다 창세기 44:14-16 베냐민이 절대로 은 잔을 훔쳤을 리가 없는데도 베냐민의 자루에서 은 잔이 발견되자 형들은 옷을 찢고 회개하며 이 일은 하나님이 개입하신 일이라는 것을 깨달았습니다. 요셉을 팔아 버렷던 형들의 죄는 절대로 피해가라 수 없는 것임을 알게 하소서. 죄의 삯은 사망이라는 하나님의 공의는 창조주마저도 십자가에 매달려야 하는 엄중한 심판임을 알게 하소서. 형들이 요셉의 집에 이르러 그 앞에 엎드리니 요셉이 그 집에서 심판자의 모습으로 형들을 기다리고 있었습니다. 우리는 절대로 죄인이 아니고 지옥갈 정도로 악하게 살지 않았다고 주장하지만 성령이 우리 안에 임재하시면 죄에 대하여 의에 대하여 심판에 대하여 책망하시리니 그때서야 자신의 죄가 보이기 시작한다는 것을 알게 하소서. 어둠 속에 살던 내 안에 빛이신 성령이 임재하면 그때는 자신이 죄인이 아니라고 절대로 핑계될 수 없다는 것을 알게 하소서. 죄인일 수 밖에 없는 자신의 실체를 알게 되는 자가 바로 거듭난 하나님의 백성임을 알게 하소서. 나 정도면 구원 받을 자격이 된다고 생각한다는 것 자체가 하나님의 은혜를 모르고 자기를 증명하기 위해서 사는 불신자와 같은 모습임을 알고 회개하고 돌이키게 하소서. 요셉은 심판자의 자리에서 어찌 하여 이런 일을 행했느냐고 내가 점을 잘 치는 줄 몰랐느냐고 형들을 질책했습니다. 동일하게 예수가 심판자의 자리에서 마음 속의 동기까지 꿰뚫어 보시며 우리의 죄를 질책하고 있다는 것을 알게 하소서. 유다는 은 잔을 훔치지는 않았지만 하나님에게 죄값을 받고 있다는 것을 알고 은 잔이 발견된 베냐민과 함께 노예가 되겠다고 자발적으로 요청했습니다. 예수가 우리를 찾아오셨을 때 우리 또한 유다처럼 자신의 열심과 의를 모두 내려놓고 자발적으로 하나님의 종이 되는 자리로 내려가는 것이 성도의 모습임을 알게 하소서. 인간의 의가 사라진 자리, 나로서는 할 수 있는 일이 아무것도 없다는 자리, 그 절망의 자리에서 예수만이 답이라는 것을 알고 예수를 붙드는 자가 바로 성도임을 알게 하소서. 오늘 이순간 우리가 죽지 않고 살아있다면 주님이 돌아올 수 있는 기회를 허락하신 것이니 예수가 내민 손을 붙잡는 거룩한 역사가 일어나게 하소서. 돈과 세상 것을 붙들고 이것이 나를 구원해 줄 것이라고 믿는 그 믿음은 모래성처럼 무너질 것이니 우리 인생을 결정하게 될 유일한 희망은 예수 뿐임을 알고 창조주의 은혜를 영접하게 하소서. 우리주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!!! 14 And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground. 15 And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine? 16 And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found. Genesis 44:14-16 When the silver cup was found in Benjamin’s sack, even though Benjamin could never have stolen it, the brothers tore their clothes and repented, realizing that this was God’s intervention. Let them know that the sin of the brothers who sold Joseph out is absolutely unavoidable. Let them know that God’s justice, that the wages of sin is death, is a severe judgment that even the Creator must be hung on the cross. When the brothers arrived at Joseph’s house and fell before him, Joseph was waiting for them in the house as a judge. We claim that we are absolutely not sinners and that we have not lived so wickedly that we should go to hell, but when the Holy Spirit dwells in us, He will convict us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and only then will we begin to see our sins. Let us know that when the Holy Spirit, the light that is in me who lived in darkness, dwells in me, then I can never make excuses that I am not a sinner. Let us know that those who realize their true nature as sinners are the reborn people of God. Let us repent and turn back, knowing that thinking that we are worthy of salvation is the same as living as an unbeliever who does not know the grace of God and lives to prove himself. Joseph rebuked his brothers, saying, “Why did you do such a thing in the place of the judge?” and “Didn’t you know that I am good at fortune telling?” Let us know that Jesus, in the same way, sees through our hearts’ motives and rebukes our sins. Judas did not steal the silver cup, but he knew that he was being punished by God, and voluntarily asked to become a slave along with Benjamin, where the silver cup was found. Let us know that when Jesus comes to us, we, like Judas, put down all our zeal and righteousness, and voluntarily go down to the place of becoming servants of God. Let us know that those who know that Jesus is the only answer in the place where human righteousness has disappeared and where there is nothing we can do, and hold on to Jesus in that place of despair, are the saints. If we are alive today, this moment, the Lord has given us a chance to return, so let the holy history of holding on to the hand that Jesus has extended to us take place. The faith that holds on to money and worldly things and believes that these will save me will collapse like a sand castle, so let us know that the only hope that will determine our lives is Jesus and accept the grace of the Creator.
