Homily for the 5th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C, Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Kham

In his sermon on the 5th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C, Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Kham shared a meaningful message about love and charity. He emphasized that: "Love is not just words but must also be shown through concrete actions". The Bishop used the image of the Good Samaritan to illustrate the need for us to care for those around us, no matter who they are. Bishop Peter's sermon was not only a sermon about faith, but also an invitation for us to live better. He has awakened in each of us a desire to love and share. I believe that the Bishop's message will continue to accompany us on our journey to find the meaning of life. Gospel: Lk 5, 1-11 “They left everything and followed him”. Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke. At that time, as the people were pressing in on Jesus to hear the word of God, he stood by the shore of Lake Gennesaret. He saw two boats standing by the shore; the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the people. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” Simon answered him, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the nets.” So they did so and caught a great number of fish, so that their nets were beginning to tear. Then they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. When they came, they filled both boats so full that they began to sink. When Simon saw this, he fell at Jesus' feet and said to him, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man." He and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish they had made, as were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners. But Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him. The word of the Lord. ────────────────── Please watch other videos: ▶ List of Saints' Biographies:    • Tiểu Sử Các Thánh   ▶ List of Bible Sermons:    • Bài Giảng Kinh Thánh   ▶ List of Holy Mass Sermons:    • Bài Giảng Thánh Lễ   ▶Thank you for watching and joining us.
