This grounding practice explores poses that stimulate the meridians associated with the earth element in Chinese medicine. We will spend the entire practice on the floor and the majority of it on our hands and knees. So I recommend grabbing a blanket or two (or towels) if youā€™ll be practicing on a hard surface and your mat isnā€™t very cushiony. In this practice, we explored the meridians associated with the earth element via yoga poses that stimulate the parts of our bodies where these meridians are located and by moving through poses that are low to the ground. The earth element and its associated organs are linked to the emotion of worry and overthinking. It's also associated with nurturing and nourishment. Take a moment to write a letter to yourself, from a place of compassion, offering yourself comfort for the things you've felt anxious about lately. It can help to imagine you are writing to a loved one. How would you speak to someone else who was anxious and worried about the things you are currently feeling anxious and worried about?
