The DLC game is a remake of the 2005 DLC game of the same name. The game features an "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter gameplay similar to the original, but also draws aspects from the remakes of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020). The remake features redesigned visuals, new character designs and backgrounds to create a tenser atmosphere. The Separate Ways DLC experiences the events of Resident Evil 4 from Ada Wong’s character’s perspective and takes place before Leon S. Kennedy arrives in the cursed village, filling in unanswered questions posed in the main story. Your mission as Ada is to retrieve “the Amber” from the Los Illuminados cult, which is their darkest secret. During the mission, Ada must also deal with an unknown threat that is devouring her from within, an accomplice in Luis Sera, who has a dark past and ulterior motives, and an unexpected reunion with Leon. Adding to the action from the base game with Leon, Ada is equipped with a grappling gun for use in various locations and to take down enemies from distance or launch a ranged melee attack, which allows for a more fast-paced gameplay and exciting experience. Resident Evil 4 Remake Separate Ways DLC was released on September 21, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
