(including 'how'!)) ch Psalm 23:5 (Psalm 23:5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (Psalm 23:6) I have shown goodness (2896 Tov) all my life. Good, gentle, abundant (from טוֹב, 2895) Surely mercy shall follow me, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. David measures the size of the grace that God has given him and exclaims in admiration. He was able to overcome all the tribulations and trials because he trusted in the Lord who was crucified and resurrected. He confesses that he was established in all things by the grace of God's goodness (2 Sam 23:5 Is not my house so with God? He has made an everlasting covenant with me, established in all things and sure). With the overflowing grace that was given to him, that is, good, he was able to do good even to the wicked Saul (1 Sam 24:18-19).
