20th Sunday after Pentecost - 23 October 2022- Live from St. Francis Anglican Church
The Pharisee follows the laws to the letter. The Publican, or Tax Collector, collects taxes for Rome. Both were despised. The Pharisee knows he is in the right, while the Tax Collector is seeking redemption. Do we act like both the Pharisee and the Publican? God looks at who we are, our soul. We need to be “put right with God” through God’s salvation. We need to use prayer to acknowledge God’s presence in our souls to bring us closer to and present with God. Reading: Joel 2:23-32 Psalm 65:1-8 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18 Luke 18:9-14
