#TheParableOfTheWeedsAmongTheWheat #DisillusionmentWithTheChurch #TestOfHoliness #ImperfectCommunity TOPIC: ARE YOU DISILLUSIONED WITH LEADERS AND MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH AND RENEWAL COMMUNITY? First Reading: Exodus 24:3-8 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 50:1b-2, 5-6, 14-15 Alleluia: James 1:21bc Gospel: Matthew 13:24-30 Today’s gospel reading is a parable found only in Matthew and is about a man who has sown seed in his field. Unknown to him, an enemy planted weeds at night among the wheat. When the crops started to grow and produced fruit, the weeds became much more evident. The slaves ask the master if they could pull out the weeds but he tells them to wait till harvest time as they might pull out the wheat with the weeds, for they look very similar. We reflect today on the condition of our hearts as we witness the many transgressions of people, particularly those who serve in the church and the renewal communities. This is the 473rd installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
