Hiking Sardinia - Europe's Deepest Gorge & The Best Beach?

We begin today’s video at sunrise from one fantastic spot high above the town of Talana, on Monte Olinie viewpoint. The hairpin bends of the mountain road below were so worth the effort to get to there. Our evening at the Bio Farm Cucche agriturismo was spectacular, so much beautiful food and warm Sardinian hospitality. We highly recommend visiting an agriturismo when on the island. We then head towards Gola di Gorropu, one of the deepest gorges in Europe. Here we hiked down into the canyon, explored the limestone boulder covered river bed, where the at its deepest the gorge walls are over 500 meters high. We then cheated .. in the best way, having a helping hand back up the hillside in a 4X4 jeep. We then head to our camp spot for the evening, our first paid-for site since leaving camp lockdown. Su Porteddu bar car park allows overnight stay and has toilet and shower facilities too. Plus a bit of puppy action … yes more dogs! But the biggest reason to stay here is that this is the beginning of the hike to Cala Golorizè, one of the top secluded and photogenic beaches in Sardinia. The only access to it is on foot and boats can no longer pull into the bay area. The 4km hike down to it was a little hard work, but the white pebble beach and unbelievably crystal clear waters made up for it. But the walk back up the hill was a different story.
