Mons Bernard Kiely and the parish of Good Shepherd Balmoral welcome us for Mass today. The readings for the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time are about the wisdom of God which is very different from our wisdom In the first reading we hear how Solomon requested the gift of understanding instead of material goods or power. The psalm reminds us that God’s commands are more precious than gold. Further reminders are heard in the second reading which encourage us to work for God’s purpose. While in the gospel Jesus again uses parables to teach about the important treasure the Kingdom of God.
