First-St. Andrew's United Church Worship Service - December 22, 2024

Welcome to worship at First-St. Andrew's United Church in London, Ontario! We are pleased to present this live-stream worship service on Sunday, December 22, 2024. The service will begin at 10:30am. Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Love. We invite you to share in the Love was sent to the world with the birth of a baby so many years ago. This service is led by Rev. Dr. Joshua Lawrence who is joined by today's scripture reader Steve Elson. Our readings are Psalm 91 and Luke 1: 46-56. Rev. Dr. Joshua Lawrence will preach a meditation entitled “Whither are we moving now?” Special thanks to today's Brass Quartet; Ken Baldwin & Marsh Binseil on trumpets, Denis Jiron & Peter Hysen on trombones. They will open our service and provide a Musical Offering of "In dulci jubilo" by Michael Praetorius. Minister of Music, Chris Fischer leads our Senior Choir in C. V. Stanford's "Magnificat in G" featuring soprano soloist Madeline Berman. Congregational hymns this morning are "We Resist" by Mark A. Miller, VU #221 "Sing Praise to God, Who Has Shaped," MV #120 "My Soul Cries Out," (accompanied by Marg Trethewey, flute; Lynda Kennedy, hand drum; and Bob Kennedy, tambourine) and VU #882 "Isaiah 40 (Prepare the Way)."
