At The Procession With Palms – Gospel Mark 11:1-10 or John 12:12-16 At The Mass – First Reading: Isaiah 50:4-7 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 22:8-9, 17-18, 19-20, 23-24 2nd Reading: Philippians 2:6-11 Verse Before the Gospel : Philippians 2:8-9 Gospel: Mark 14:1-15:47 or Mark 15:1-39 Today is Palm Sunday. It is the start of a week that gives full meaning to the “Paschal Mystery", the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as, the ascension and the sending of the Holy Spirit. Jesus enters Jerusalem to an enthusiastic crowd as the Messiah foretold in scriptures. He knew His death was imminent. His disciples have heard Him say so several times. He knew the crowd that welcomed Him would turn their backs on Him immediately after. Yet, Jesus went through His mission quietly, lovingly, patiently teaching and healing, persevering through the Hosannas that greeted Him that He knew would turn to shouts of “Crucify Him” in the next few days. This is the 355th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
