First Reading: 1 Samuel 1:24-28 Responsorial Psalm: 1 Samuel 2:1, 4-5, 6-7, 8ABCD Gospel: Luke 1:46-56 When people or circumstances cause us pain and suffering, we can become angry and disillusioned with life and those we feel have betrayed us. Yet, years later, we realize that these people and circumstances are blessings in disguise. We have only to thank them, and God, for showing us the way to our new life. Only gratefulness, not hatred and bitterness, should rule our life, for all things work for our good. This is the 989th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
