#thewordoflord Reflection on Luke 12:39–48 — Be Ready for the Lord’s Return Jesus’ parables of the thief in the night and the returning master remind us that life can change in an instant — and so can eternity. Both stories challenge us to stay awake, faithful, and ready for the Lord’s coming, which may happen when we least expect it. 🔔 Stay Vigilant and Guard What Matters Most Just as a thief strikes under the cover of darkness, spiritual danger often comes quietly when we grow careless or distracted. Jesus urges us to protect the true treasure — the life of grace within us, the gift of salvation, and the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts. If we neglect prayer, charity, or obedience to God’s word, we risk losing the very treasures that lead to eternal life. ⚔️ Resist the Thief of the Soul Satan comes like a thief to rob us of faith and peace, whispering false promises that joy can be found apart from God. But the heart that trusts in the Lord and lives by His truth cannot be deceived. Each day is a new opportunity to turn from sin, forgive freely, and walk humbly with God — not tomorrow, but today. 👑 Faithful Servants Will Be Rewarded When the master returns, he will bless those found faithful in their duties — humble, loving, and steadfast in serving others. But those who waste time, abuse their gifts, or ignore God’s call will face loss and regret. As Jesus says, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” ✝️ Be Ready to Meet the Lord The Lord’s coming may be sudden, but it should not be feared. For the faithful, His judgment brings joy and reward — eternal life in the presence of God, the source of all truth, beauty, and love. Let us, then, live each day with readiness, faithfulness, and hope, praying: Reading 1, Romans 6:12-18 Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 124:1-3, 4-6, 7-8 Gospel, Luke 12:39-48 Wednesday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time ************** Disclaimer: This video may contain copyrighted material used under "Fair Use" for religious, educational, and inspirational purposes.
