President Biden signed into law the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act with bipartisan support from both chambers of Congress, doubling down on his administration’s commitment to stem hatred and bias. Biden called it the “ugly poison that has long haunted and plagued our nation.” Thursday, officials announced 513 new, positive cases and 25 new deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 884,689 cases in the state and 26,053 confirmed and probable deaths.
