DEPRESSION (WAR) CAKE | A delicious CHOCOLATE CAKE with NO EGGS, NO BUTTER, NO MILK

A delicious chocolate cake that is perfectly moist. This cake was popular during the great depression and war times as eggs, butter and milk was hard to come by. Do give this a try, it has become a favourite of mine during lockdown. I hope you enjoy! INGREDIENTS: CHOCOLATE CAKE 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (cake flour) 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/3 cup cooking oil 1 tbsp vinegar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup water CHOCOLATE ICING 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (icing sugar) 1/4 cup cocoa powder about 4 tbsp water 1 tsp vanilla extract
