Waiting for the Messiah From the time the first sin entered the world, so came God’s promise of one who would eventually overcome sin. God used many people—prophets, kings, and even outcasts—over hundreds of years, at different times and in different places to reveal details about the credentials and characteristics of the coming Messiah—the anointed one. Why? He wanted there to be no mistake. The evidence is clear—Jesus fulfilled every one of the Messianic prophecies, and yet there are still some who doubt.
