Daily Bread Devotional: Devotional Topic: STRENGTH IN SERVICE READ: Romans 14:19-15:3 Verse of the Day: Romans 15:1-2 Devotional Message: (Romans 15:1-2) "We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord." In these verses, the Apostle Paul addresses a key issue within the Christian community—how we relate to one another, especially when we have different opinions or strengths. Paul urges those who are strong in their faith to be considerate of those who may struggle with certain issues. The strong are called to support the weak, not by pleasing themselves, but by helping others grow in their relationship with God. This passage reminds us that our strength is not just for our benefit. We are strong so that we can help others. In our lives, there are many situations where we might feel more confident or knowledgeable about certain matters. However, Paul encourages us to use our strengths to uplift others, not to judge or belittle them. True strength in the Christian life is shown when we prioritize the well-being of others over our own preferences. Application: In your daily life, consider how you can apply this teaching. Do you know someone who might be struggling with their faith or feeling discouraged? Instead of focusing on how you might feel about the situation, think about how you can encourage them. Maybe it’s a kind word, offering to pray with them, or simply being patient and listening to their concerns. Remember, it’s not about winning an argument or proving that you’re right. It’s about building others up so they can grow stronger in their walk with God. When we choose to support and encourage others, we reflect the love of Christ. This is what it means to live out our faith in a practical, everyday way. We are all part of the body of Christ, and when one part is weak, the whole body is affected. Let’s choose to be a source of strength and encouragement for those around us. PRAYER: Lord, help me to be sensitive to the needs of others and to use the strength You’ve given me to lift them up. Teach me to put others before myself, just as Jesus did. Amen.
