Sunday Service from 18 December, 2022 at Brampford Speke Chapel
We welcome you to this service recorded at our chapel in the village of Brampford Speke just to the north of Exeter. This is a service of carols and readings recorded on the afternoon of Sunday 18th December. The service includes Holy Communion. The service is led by our minister Simon who reflects on what we learn about discipleship from the example of Mary, who bears Jesus to and for the sake of the world. The Bible also speaks of God dwelling in believers, that we too bear God to the world that God's peace and love may be known by all. What does the example of Mary teach us? What can we learn from her joyful and bitter journey to help us with our own journeys? Carols are led by guitar and also music recorded by the Stotfold band of the Salvation Army. We are extremely grateful for their kind permission to use these recordings in our Christmas videos. You can find out more about them at https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/stot.... The service includes: Welcome Opening reading Micah 5.2-5 Hymn O little town of Bethlehem Prayer & the Lord's Prayer Reading Luke 1.26-38 Hymn Hark the herald angels sing Reading Luke 2.1-7 Hymn Away in a manger Offering & Dedication Reading Ephesians 3.14-21 Hymn Infant holy, infant lowly Reflection Being God-bearers - learning from the example of Mary Hymn Silent Night Holy Communion Intercessions said around the Lord’s Table Hymn O come all ye faithful Blessing Our closing music is played by the band of the Salvation Army from Stotfold in Bedfordshire.
