Rep. Yoo Seong-Min elected as ruling Saenuri Party floor leader / YTN

The Saenuri Party has chosen a non-mainstream lawmaker as floor leader, which is widely seen as heralding a change in the ruling party's relationship with the presidential office. In an election staged on Monday, three-term Rep. Yoo Seong-Min won the race for the party's No. 2 position with 84 of 149 votes. He is well known as a critic of the Park Geun-Hye administration. Yoo defeated four-term lawmaker Lee Ju-Young, considered to be from the party's pro-Parkfaction. Lee won 65 votes. Replacing Lee One-Koo, who was nominated prime minister last month, Yoo said he will try to reform the party and closely communicate with the president as well as the government.
