Saint Lucy's Church, Newark, N.J. An Artistic glimpse of Paradise- Episode I

Saint Lucy's Church, Newark, N.J. An Artistic glimpse of Paradise- Episode I. Saint Lucy's Church is on 7th Avenue in the heart of what was once the largest Italian neighborhood in Newark, N.J. It was known as the First Ward. This church is the most mystical and beautiful church in New Jersey and is an artistic patrimony treasure. It was built by Italian immigrants with love and devotion to God and they didn't spare any energy or money in its beautification. It is full of amazing stained glass, an ornate altar, breathtaking murals and many statues from various towns in southern Italy (the church is the national shrine of San Gerardo- Saint Gerard- of Maiella di Caposele. The Feast of Saint Gerard has been celebrated here since 1899. In this Filmino, I walk you through the church to show you the amazing artworks inside during the 125th Feast of San Gerardo in 2024.
