Sermon | May 15, 2022 9:00am | Traditional Worship at Prince of Peace Orlando | Pastor Ken Green * * * * "Those Jesus Sends Are Open" | As Jesus sends us out to engage others with His love, we may need to unlearn patterns or attitudes that we once held to be true. Jesus has already poured out His heart for the ones to whom we are sent. What does Jesus need to do to open our hearts to them as well? The Apostle Peter faced this very challenge. God sent Peter to the home of the Centurion Cornelius—a Gentile. According to the old laws of tradition, Peter was not allowed to associate, visit, or have table fellowship with a Gentile. According to the law of Jesus’ love, Peter was called to allow God to open his heart, open his mind, and open his mouth to share Jesus’ love. This is all possible through the power of the Spirit. To whom is Jesus sending you? (They may be closer than you think.) How does God to open your heart to share His love? Scripture focus: Acts 11:1-18; Revelation 21:1-7; John 16:12-22 During these weeks following Easter we look to the Early Church to see how Jesus, the Risen Lord, and the power of the Spirit transformed these followers of Jesus.
