Watch this video for a step-by-step guide to making the softest, most delicious modaks at home. #ukdichemodakrecipe #modakrecipe #ganpatibappamorya #ganeshfestival #ukdichemodak Ingredients 1 cup freshly grated coconut 1/2 cup jaggery (finely chopped or grated) 1 tsp cardamom powder (elaichi) 1 cup Rice flour Turmeric leaf Full Recipe: 1.Prepare the Stuffing: Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan on medium heat. -Add 1/2 cup of jaggery, Add 1 cups of freshly grated coconut and mix well until it melts completely. Stir continuously to prevent it from sticking. Let the jaggery and coconut mixture cook for about 5-7 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Add 1 tsp of cardamom powder and mix it well. Once the mixture is ready, let it cool completely. This is your modak filling. 2.Prepare the Outer Covering: In a large vessel, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp of ghee to the boiling water. Slowly add 1 cup of rice flour, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Once the dough comes together, cover and let it steam on low heat for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and Knead the dough while it’s still warm until it becomes smooth and pliable. 3.Shaping the Modak: Grease your hands with a little ghee. Take a small portion of the rice dough , roll it into a smooth ball and put it in the rice flour . Flatten the ball into a thin disc . Place a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery stuffing in the center. Carefully fold the edges, pinching them together to form pleats, and bring the pleats together at the top to seal the modak. Repeat this process for the remaining dough and filling. 4.Steaming the Modak: -Take a steamer and place turmeric leaves in it. -Grease turmeric leaves with ghee to prevent the modaks from sticking. Place the modaks in a steamer, ensuring they are not touching each other. Steam the modaks for about 5 minutes on medium heat, Remove from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving. Serving Suggestions: Serve these soft, delicious Ukadiche Modak with a drizzle of ghee for an extra touch of flavor. Perfect for offering during Ganesh Chaturthi or as a festive sweet treat for family and friends.
