Unite calls for names of 'fascists' to be removed from local buildings at SDGG awards ceremony
The SDGG has presented a posthumous award to the first leader of the trade union in Gibraltar, Agustin Huarte. Agustin was described at the ceremony as the "father of the workers union". Both Unite the Union and the SDGG used the event to call for local history to be taught in Gibraltar's schools, with Unite also announcing their campaign for the names of fascists to be removed from local buildings- such as Bishop Fitzgerald School. Our reporter, Katy Docker, was at the awards ceremony.
